The Goulburn Broken Regional Water Services Committee represents diversions, groundwater
and farm dam customers across the Goulburn Broken region. The area consists of the unregulated tributaries that flow into the Goulburn River and the Broken River.
GMW’s Goulburn Broken Regional customers use water for domestic and stock, irrigation and commercial purposes.
The Goulburn Broken Regional WSC is chaired by Craig Madden and currently consists of six members, with two vacancies.
A focus for the committee this year has been the launch of Watermatch – a trading notice board where unregulated and groundwater customers can post or trade water.
During the year, the committee also had input into developing a state Groundwater Trading Policy, the Eildon and Broken Groundwater Management Plans, Water Plan 4 and the Choice and Flexibility Project.
The WSC also toured the Lower Goulburn looking at issues around the MDBA Constraints Strategy.
