Goulburn-Murray Water staff speak at 2017 ANCOLD Forum

Monday 3 April, 2017

Five Goulburn-Murray Water (GMW) staff have presented at a national forum on dams in NSW to share their knowledge and expertise.

Dam Instrumentation Technician Kevin Jones, Project Manager Jim Wheelhouse, Survey Services Manager Glenn Collins, Recreation and Land Coordinator Chris Braden and Eildon Senior Reservoir Officer Wayne Murphy visited Jindabyne in late March to speak at the ANCOLD Dam Operators Forum 2017 (Australian National Committee on Large Dams Incorporated).

The forum provides an opportunity for water authority representatives from around the country to come together and share knowledge in areas of small and large dam ownership and management.

GMW staff presented on a range of topics at the two-day forum including managing dam safety instrumentation and use of GPS during the Tullaroop Dam Safety upgrade project, ground anchor testing, recreation and land activities and operation of the Lake Eildon cylinder gate.

“This is an excellent opportunity for our staff to meet with those in similar roles and compare notes,” GMW Managing Director Pat Lennon said.

"As part of a best practice approach, opportunities like this allow our staff to engage and collaborate with industry counterparts, which is hugely beneficial.”
