A new-look waterproof Lake Eildon Recreation Guide has been released to keep houseboat users, visitors and local recreational users up to date with key information.
Released in late 2016, the guide features information on water levels; facilities; camping, fishing and boating details; events; and how to care for the lake.
“We’ve have some great feedback on our new-look Lake Eildon Recreation Guide,” Manager Recreation and Land Strategy David Jackson said.
“It’s still waterproof and has the boating guide and information like the old one, but contains much more information on what to do and where to go, and where to stay in and around Lake Eildon.
“It even lets you know where you can catch a fish and camp by the lake.”
The guide has been developed with input of the Lake Eildon Land and On Water Management Plan Implementation Group (which includes shire and government representatives, local business interests, local community and lake users).
“It’s a ‘one stop shop’ for locals and visitors alike. Make sure you grab one when you visit, or download one in advance,” Mr Jackson said.
Lake Eildon is noted as one of the state’s most important inland waterways, supplying about 60 per cent of the water used in the Goulburn-Murray Irrigation District.
