Lake Eildon Implementation Committee

Last year, Goulburn-Murray Water, the Mansfield Shire and Murrindindi Shire Councils and a number of other agencies finalised the Lake Eildon Land and On-Water Management Plan including the creation of a formal Implementation Committee. The now appointed Implementation Committee, with broad representation across councils, government agencies, business and community held their first meeting in Mansfield in July 2013.

The Implementation Committee, and particularly community members, will play an important role in enabling the Lake Eildon community and user groups to have ongoing input into the implementation of the actions in the Plan.

To find out more about the Committee, see their profiles below. If you would like to contact any of the Committee members please email LakeEildonIC@gmwater.com.au and we'll put you in contact.

Peter Higgins

Peter has extensive industry experience in managing projects related to erosion control and stream bank restoration. Peter has been a Lake user for 32 years, as an avid fisherman, a deer hunter, a camper and a houseboat owner. Peter has travelled the entire shoreline of the Lake and hiked over every hill and valley in the surrounding area. Peter believes that the current outdoor activities available to us all should continue and be improved where possible. An environmentally sensitive approach to all aspects of land and water use is now expected by the public and regulators. We are all responsible to pass on the enjoyment we have had from Lake Eildon and its surrounds to the next generation in as good if not better condition than we have inherited it, and Peter looks forward to the challenge.
