Proposed draft amended management Plan with the Minister for Water

In November 2015 the Minister for Water appointed the Katunga Consultative Committee (the Committee) to advise on amendments to the Katunga Water Supply Protection Area (WSPA) Groundwater Management Plan (the Plan).

The Committee have not developed a new groundwater management plan; rather they have developed a draft amended Plan in line with the Terms of Reference established by the Minister for Water.

The Committee invited comment from groundwater users and the community between March and May. The Committee thanks those who provided feedback, this feedback has been reviewed and forwarded along with the draft amended Plan to the Minister for Water.

The Minister for Water will consider the submissions along with the proposed draft amended Plan and make a decision on the proposed amendments. Until a decision is made the existing Groundwater Management Plan remains in effect.

A copy of the proposed draft amended Plan is available to download.
