SSP310, SSP311 Senior Dam Safety Engineer

About the role

Are you a qualified Dam Safety Engineer looking for your next career challenge?  We’re looking for a Senior Dam Safety Engineer to join our team at Goulburn-Murray Water to ensure that the 16 large dams we manage, continue to provide safe and reliable water supplies to northern Victoria.

Responsibilities include:

  • Overseeing dam safety surveillance and monitoring programs
  • Conducting and reporting on dam safety annual inspections
  • Providing technical advice on dam safety and dam engineering issues
  • Providing engineering expertise, identifying and supporting opportunities for innovation and efficiency in the collection and management of critical dam safety data
  • Working with consultants in the delivery of dam design safety reviews
  • Supporting the maintenance of GMW’s Dam Safety emergency planning, management and emergency response arrangements 
  • Supporting the development of other dam safety team members

While flexible working options are available, the successful candidate will be required to work within the Albury-Wodonga or Tatura region as frequent site visits will be required. You will also be willing and available to form part of the on-call dam safety duty roster.    

About you

 You are an experienced and qualified Dam Safety Engineer with:

  • Strong knowledge of ANCOLD guidelines and risk assessments
  • Proven project and consultant management skills
  • Qualification and experience in a relevant field of Engineering (Civil, Mechanical or Electrical)
  • Victorian Engineering Registration
