As the owners and responsible land managers of over 10,000 parcels of land through Northern Victoria, we manage a multitude of property dealings, maximising the value of our core assets and supporting our complementary services.
We do this by leasing or licensing the land, dealing with acquisitions or disposal of land and acting as a referral authority under the Planning & Environment Act (1987).
Provides information on selling GMW land and GMW acquiring private land.
GMW regularly reviews opportunities to maximise its landholdings. This is generally by way of leasing and licensing or divestment where the land is deemed surplus to operational needs.
GMW has over 800 agreements in place for leasing or licensing of GMW land. The range of permitted uses includes commercial caravan parks, recreational licences and agricultural agreements. We also issue licences for commercial business operators on land and waterways.
As a referral authority, GMW assesses the impact any land use and development applications may have on water quality and GMW’s assets and infrastructure.
